This Is A Dofollow Blog

Dofollow LogoBefore I begin to venture into the wonderful world of translating and interpreting, I would like to deal some with some housekeeping matters as pertains to this blog. Ideally this could have been done in form of static page and link appropriately from other pages. But why waste a blog?

I hope this post will set forth certain expectations I have of anyone who wishes to comment on this blog. In the past, as well as now, I always supported the idea of removing “nofollow” attributes from the links in the comment area.

Commenting on this blog

Every one who comments here is contributing with unique content. By giving you a clean link to your website is my way to acknowledge my appreciation for your time and effort. It is humbling to know that any one would take time to pay a visit here and leave a comment. However this is not an invitation to those who pay a visit here just so they can spam. Hence following should be the comments policy:

  1. When leaving your comment for the first time, please avoid using the name field to type your company name, unless you really know me. You will learn with the time that I am quiet tolerant as far as that goes. However I would like to build a community of readers around this website, so introduce yourself appropriately.
  2. Please do not link to spammy websites.
  3. Please do not link to websites that contain pornography, promote gambling, violence or any other illegal activity.
  4. Please do link (at least once) to a website where I can learn about you.
  5. Please respect every one else who reads an comments on this blog.

Trakcbacks and Pingbacks

The plugin I use on this blog to remove “nofollow” has equal power over what is known as trackbacks. What that means is that whenever you decide to link to any of the post on this blog from your own blog, it will be acknowledged here with with a link back to your blog. The value of the trackback is that it offers you a much richer anchor text in the link to your blog. The trackbacks will be moderated as well and same policy will be applied as far as spammy website are concerned.
